One day a crow was so thirsty that he thought he would die if he did not soon find water.
After some time he saw a pitcher of water and he flew to it to obtain a drink of water. But he found that there was very little water in it.
He tried to reach the water with his bill, but could not, because the pitcher was high and the water was too low in the pitcher.
There were some pebbles near the pitcher. Seeing these, he thought of a plan. He picked the pebbles one by one, and dropped them into the pitcher.
The water in the pitcher rose gradually as each stone was put in.
at last it rose so high that he was able to reach it.
